ENGIM is a NGO that has been operating in Italy since 1977 and it’s registered in the Register of ONLUS. ENGIM is suitable for: implementing short and medium term programs in emerging countries; carrying out training activities in those countries; selecting, training and employing volunteers in civil service; carrying out information and development education actions in Italy. ENGIM currently operates in 14 countries (Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone, Lebanon, Mali, Ghana, India, Albania, Kenya) with projects and programs aimed mainly at vulnerable children and adolescents and focused on the theme of vocational training, non-formal education, food and socio-health assistance. In Italy, ENGIM mainly operates in the sector of training and career guidance for young people in 6 regions (Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio and Sicily). It is part of the Association of Italian Development Cooperation NGOs and of the Italian Platform of European NGOs CONCORD. Since December 2008 it has also joined FOCSIV, Federation of Christian Organisms of International Voluntary Service and, with the regional offices of Sicily and Piedmont, it is a member of CONGASS (NGO Coordination and Sicilian Solidarity Association) and of the COP (Piedmontese NGO Consortium ). SECTORS OF INTERVENTION - Development cooperation projects - Development and Global Education - Events and initiatives to raise awareness on the North-South imbalances - Fair trade (with the Ekuò brand and a Bottega del Mondo in Rome, which has also become a place of aggregation and promotion of local volunteering) - International mobility and volunteering MAIN ACTIVITIES - Start-up and support of technical and professional training centers in agriculture, engineering, electronic, tourism, IT, construction, carpentry, car mechanics, tailoring, etc. - Social and occupational integration and reintegration of young people and adults. - Work placement, support for self-employment, promotion of cooperatives, micro-credit. - Interventions in the field of food security and sustainable development: support for agriculture, construction of wells, use of alternative energy (installation of photovoltaic systems, water supply systems, etc.) - Actions to protect marginalized sections of the population: ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, indigenous populations. In addition to development cooperation projects, ENGIM is also engaged in: - Education for development and global citizenship: ENGIM promotes educational, awareness and information initiatives in schools and out of schools, to make young people aware of the problems and imbalances between the North and the South of the world. - Fair trade: in 2002 ENGIM opened its first Bottega del Mondo in Rome, with the aim of promoting fair trade as a tool for building a fairer world and offering more dignified guarantees and respect for the rights of workers from emerging countries. - International Mobility and Volunteering: ENGIM welcomes and involves young people in its international cooperation and solidarity activities, in Italy and abroad, also through various mobility programs (universal civil service, European voluntary service, university internships and field research) .
ENGIM operates in Ecuador with the aim of supporting environmental protection and local development through international cooperation initiatives, focused on training and WASH activities. The volunteer will contribute actively to the implementation of initiatives by ensuring more efficient, transparent, and compliant management with current regulations, facilitating resource coordination and optimizing bureaucratic processes. Key tasks: Support in the preparation of monthly financial statements Collaboration in the preparation of monthly tax declarations Assistance in recording banking and accounting transactions Support in managing supplier payments Preparation and filing of administrative documentation Support in the preparation of administrative and financial reports Updating and maintaining accounting records Collaboration with the team to optimize administrative processes Assistance in internal audit activities and support in coordination with other departments
- Volunteers will be accommodated in a shared apartment or guesthouse in a community near the project area. Basic utilities such as electricity, water, and internet access will be available, though service may be intermittent due to contingencies. - A monthly allowance of €800 will be provided, covering daily expenses, food and local transport. - A laptop will be provided, and reimbursement for mobile phone expenses is included. - Flexible working hours and a combination of on-site and remote work may be available, depending on the autonomy of the volunteer and the schedule of activities.
- Pre-departure training on local context, ongoing programs, humanitarian principles and security. - On-site and pre-departure training on administrative, accounting and management topics, in the non-profit sector. - Learning in the workplace in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team. - The volunteer will receive briefings/training with different departments related to the mission and the position.
The Participant profile: - Education & Training: Degree in Economics, Administration, Accounting, or related fields. Additional training in financial management, reporting, or workplace safety is considered a plus. - Skills & Competencies: Organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in document management and data analysis. Experience in accounting and financial management in the non-profit sector. Ability to work in a team and multicultural environments. Autonomy and ability to manage priorities. - Desired skills: Knowledge of the country's tax and fiscal regulations. Previous experience in the country. - Language & Technical Skills: Proficiency in Spanish (B2 level or higher is preferable). Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office package, Excel, accounting software, and data management tools).Deadline: 04/05/2025 17:00
