Das Kreisjugendwerk (KJW) der AWO Karlsruhe-Stadt ist ein gemeinnütziger Kinder- und Jugendverband und gehört dem Kreisverband der AWO Ka-Stadt an. Als unabhängige Organisation für Kinder- und Jugendarbeit organisiert das KJW Freizeitaktivitäten für Kinder und Jugendliche. Außerdem bietet das KJW für Menschen im Alter zwischen 6 und 20 Jahren, außerschulische Bildung und Workshops sowie interkulturelle Aktivitäten an. Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene im Alter von 15-27 Jahren können an verschiedenen Projekten teilnehmen. Ein Schwerpunkt unserer Arbeit ist die Partizipation und persönliche Entwicklung. Unsere Aktivitäten richten sich bewusst auch an Kinder und Jugendliche aus sozial schwachen Familien und für Kinder und Jugendliche mit Migrationshintergrund. Das KJW will mit ihrer Arbeit junge Menschen die Möglichkeit geben, ihre kognitiven, emotionalen und sozialen Fähigkeiten zu verwirklichen und weiterzuentwickeln. Fähigkeiten, mit welchen sie als selbstbestimmter Mensch ihre Aufgaben in Beruf, Familie und Gesellschaft erfüllen können. Ein weiteres Ziel ist es den jungen Menschen beizubringen sich aktiv bei der Gestaltung des gesellschaftlichen Lebens und bei der Wahrnehmung ihrer Interessen und Rechte einzubringen. In allen Schulferien unseres Bundeslandes "Baden-Württemberg" bieten wir Kinder- und Jugendfreizeiten in Deutschland und anderen europäische Länder an. Außerdem bildet das bildet Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene zu Jugendgruppenleitern aus, die dann die Freizeiten organisieren und leiten. Zusätzlich entsendet das KJW, nimmt auf und koordiniert Freiwillige des Europäischen Solidaritätskorps und organisiert einmal jährlich eine trinationale Jugendbegegnung. Im Laufe des Jahres finden weitere Aktivitäten statt, wie zum Beispiel interkulturelle Veranstaltungen, offene Treffen und regelmäßige Events in unserem Jugendclub. Unser Vorstand sind Jugendliche im Alter von 16-30 Jahren. Sie überlegen sich, anhand des Bedarfes von Kindern und Jugendlichen aus Karlsruhe, der Umgebung und europaweit welche Projekte das KJW umsetzen soll. Die europäischen Freiwillige können Ideen einbringen und diese gemeinsam mit anderen Jugendlichen aus Karlsruhe umsetzen. Sie sind im hauptamtlichen Büro eingesetzt, können aber alle Aktivitäten des KJWs kennen lernen und in den Bereichen die sie interessieren Aufgaben absolvieren und neue Kenntnisse erwerben. ---- The ‘Kreisjugendwerk’ (KJW) of the AWO Karlsruhe-Stadt is a nonprofit children’s and youth organisation. As an independent organisation for child and youth work, the KJW organises leisure activities for children and young people between the ages of 6 and 20 years, extracurricular education and workshops, as well as intercultural activities and projects for young people and young adults in the age of 15 and 27 years. One focus of our work is participation and personal development. Our activities are also deliberately offered to children and young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and to young people with a migration background. With its work, the KJW wants to enable young people to realise and further develop their cognitive, emotional and social skills, in order to be able to fulfil their tasks in work, family and society as a self-determined person, to be actively involved in creating social life, and to exercise their interests and rights. In all the school holidays of our region "Baden-Württemberg" we provide camps for kids and youngsters in Germany and other european countries. The KJW educates youngsters and young adults becoming youth group leaders, who then organise and lead the camps. Additionally we are sending, hosting and coordinating volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps and organise every year one international workcamp. Throughout the year we have more activites going on: such as intercultural events, meetings and regular events in our youth club. Our board are youngsters in the age of 16-30. They are thinking of all and planning all activities we do, on the demand of young people in Karlsruhe. Volunteers can bring in ideas and implement them together with other youngsters from Karlsruhe.

Kreisjugendwerk of AWO Karlsruhe is a nonprofit children and youth organization offering non formal education and workshops to people in age 6 -23. It also organize local events for the community with the aim to promote inclusion and solidarity. Your tasks are: giving administrative support in the ESC and in international programs in the office, promoting and organising events, taking part to creative local initiatives, tidying and sorting the matierial needed for the projects. A confident use of computer and social media profiles is important, as well as it is welcomed a driving licence. In summer holidays you can join the camps as a leader and team groups of children. You will also work on weekends sometimes, but you will have 2 free days afterwards. À propos de l'hébergement

You will live in a house together with 6 European volunteers, all working in different ESC projects. The house is right next to Kalrsruhe, which you can reach in 15min by tram or train. You will have a travel card to move for free in whole Germany. The house is quite big and has a kitchen, two lounge rooms, a bathroom and a separate toilet, a balcony and a yard. 2 of the bedrooms are very small, so we introduced a „rotating system“. À propos des activités de loisirs

A mentor and the office members will offer support throughout the year. You will take part in the On-Arrival and the Midterm-Training, which take place in a different city in Germany and in group with other ESC volunteers. You will also join a training from the Jugendwerk itself facing topics such as youth work and pedagogical aspects. You will get a certificate at the end of this training, which you can use to be a camp leader working with kids. Furthermore, you have the possibility to atted first aid, german language, climbing and lifeguard courses for free.

Exigences

The Participant profile: • Motivation in working in an office/computer and with children/youngsters • Knowledge of computer work • Driver’s license preferred • motivation in some phisical work, such as carrying the boxes with the material for the activities ot tidying up • Good knowledge of English and preferred basics of German • if you are an active and sportive person, friendly with children and able with the media, liking parties and sleepovers in big groups, this position is for you!
